The High Maintenance Man And More

A girlfriend of mine recently told me that I'm too high maintenance, then she dumped me. Yeah, I take good care of myself, but that's what she was attracted to in the first place. Suddenly I'm too high maintenance? What gives?

Tony, Tony, Tony, when will you ever learn? Yes, of course she was attracted to you when you met. Dude, she had no idea what it took for you to look the way you do.

If you spend hours a day on looking good, it's a turn off. Plucking eyebrows, self-tanners, hair products, it makes you somewhat effeminate, and she doesn't want to date a chick.

There are so many men who appreciate a hot woman, but can't stand waiting around while she gets ready to go out. It works both ways. She thought you woke up and looked the way you do and when she discovered that there was a helluva lot of primping and preening involved, she got turned off and split.

You can either take it easy on the regime or you can date a 5, who will be so ecstatic that you're with her, she won't care if it takes you several hours to look "pretty"

DATING SHORT GUY

I am dating this great guy who I am sure I am in love with. The thing is, he's about 4 inches shorter than me. I know I'm not supposed to care what other people think, but people really stare at us when we're out.

I'm not sure if I could handle this for the rest of my life and I'm getting a sneaking suspicion he's going to ask me to marry him. What do I do?

Liz, if you're already having doubts about how you can spend your life with all these eyeballs on you every time you're out, I think you already answered your own question.

If you stay with him and can't get over people staring at you every time you're out, you will eventually begin to resent him or the relationship and will eventually split. So you're better off avoiding the whole marriage thing altogether and finding someone who won't put you in the center of attention every time you're out together.
