Is it even possible for men and women to be friends without sex getting in the way?
Some women, namely MARY ELIZABETH WILLIAMS from SALON.COM, seem to think so, but I have a very difficult time believing it because any man I befriended after the age of 16 wanted to sleep with me. Or at least get his hands on my private parts.
Many guys have even told me that they have all the friends they need and if they are talking to a woman, it's not because they want to add another "friend" to the roster. Hell, most men dread the idea of being put in the "friend" category.
An ex-boyfriend once told me that every man that acts like he's my friend actually wants to sleep with me. I became very upset because I didn't believe him. But one day, I overheard some of my guy friends talking about how they would give it to me so hard if I wasn't with my boyfriend. So yeah, I hated it, but he was right.
I did have a childhood friend who remained a friend throughout my life, but with time and life getting in the way, we no longer stay in touch. I'm sure that if we had had sex, our relationship would've ended sooner or we'd be married.
At the end of the day, there are so many reasons why straight men and women just can't be friends, chief among which is the significant others.
