Short men just don't cut it for women and University of Central Lancashire's Gayle Brewer and Charlene Riley have proven it.
"Previous research has outlined the female preference for tall partners," says the study. "Tall men also obtain more attractive partners, are less likely to be childless and have a greater number of children than their shorter rivals."
In their research, which studied 98 men, aged 19 to 72, ranging in height from 5'1" to 6'5", the study found that:
* Tall men are happier in their relationships
* Tall men are less prone to jealousy with their mates
* Tall men are more likely to monopolize their mate's time
* Tall men are more likely to fight another man over their mate
* Short men are more jealous
* Short men try to "increase the love and care that they show to their partners"
So it's obvious that the shorter guys get the short end of the stick and it doesn't seem like that's going to change anytime soon.
