Single Women Stay Thinner

Single Women Stay Thinner Cover
Finally some good news for single women who live on their own; it seems that women who live with boyfriends or are married tend to gain more weight, even if they remain childless.

After adjusting other variables in the formula, scientists found that the 10-year weight gain for the average 140-pound woman was:

* 20 POUNDS IF SHE HAD A PARTNER AND BABY

* 15 POUNDS IF SHE HAD A PARTNER AND NO BABY

* 11 POUNDS IF SHE WAS CHILDLESS AND SINGLE

There is no evidence that women who have partners undergo differing metabolic changes, so the weight gain among childless women who live with men was in all likelihood caused by a change in behavior.

The study covered over 6,000 Australian women over a 10-year period that ended in 2006. At the start, the women ranged in age from 18 to 23 years old.

So single ladies, rejoice! Now you can laugh in the face of cohabitation because you might not have a partner, but you're still looking great.
