Online Dating Profile Expose For The Ladies

Online Dating Profile Expose For The Ladies Image
We seem to be having a love/hate relationship with match.com this week, but in response to some requests, we have bowed to the people and done some serious research on match.com style Profile Writing. And by serious, we mean talking to people. And by research, we mean sometimes talking to people we don’t know. On the barstool next to us. But he was cute!

Regardless—we have actually talked to numerous men, thought long and hard, and spent several hours staring at our feet…wondering if we need a new pedicure (yes). But, we have learned a few things in the art of profile writing, and want to share our knowledge with you!

POST PHOTOS. Ladies, post more than one photo. Three minimum, one should definitely a full body shot and two of your face. Men are visual, and need the help. Plus, they wonder if you only post one photo, or only photos of your face—what are you hiding?
Don’t post pictures of you with other men, unless you are clearly in a non-date group. Men wonder why, and then they are not thinking about you. They need to be thinking about you.
Write a fun hook! Your title should be interesting, sassy, fun, and/or all of the above. Use a funny movie quote if you can’t come up with anything else—but your headline can draw people in! It’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but it does help (it can also be highly entertaining for you if they don’t get your movie reference).
Write an interesting profile—ok, we know. Easier said that done. So we say it’s ok to write both about you and what you are looking for—but using humor, sass, interesting stories or some sort of vignette. Set yourself apart! Post a fake want ad, use spy terminology, or maybe a silly pun? Ok, that last one was bad. But mostly, men want someone that they can have a conversation with—so witty banter, interesting stories, or just something fun can set you apart.
Though the about you section (favorite things, hotspots etc) should provide tidbits for conversation, it doesn’t have to be as well-thought out as the profile, but should provide some sort of conversation starter. Feel free to be brief! Just write some stuff about you!

While men are most attracted to the photos, it’s always great to spice up your profile and give them something to work with. The photos lure them in…the profile gets them hooked! Remember, sometimes (always) men need the help!
