Online Dating Becoming Best Way To Find Love

Online Dating Becoming Best Way To Find Love Image
A recent study shows that online dating has skyrocketed as a way to meet potential love matches - but meeting through friends still comes in first.

According to associate professor MICHAEL ROSENFELD of Stanford University, 32% OF 3,009 REPSONDENTS SAID THAT THEY MET THEIR PARTNERS THROUGH FRIENDS.

"It's the one category that works for every kind of couple - gays and straights, young and old. Everybody relies on their friends," says Rosenfeld, and yes, that is a great point.

But among the folks who met 2 years before the survey took place, 23% OF HETEROSEXUAL COUPLES AND 61% OF HOMOSEXUAL COUPLES MET ONLINE.

It is, however, worthy of mention that the survey was conducted online but the people who were recruited were contacted by phone. So it's pretty obvious that the internet is officially a legitimate way to meet life long partners, and there are plenty of dating sites out there to back that info up.

Data from Neilsen Online further proves the relevancy of online dating sites: THERE HAS BEEN A 15% OVERALL GROWTH IN VISITORS TO ONLINE DATING SITES FROM DECEMBER 2005 TO DECEMBER 2009.

It's also worthy to note that most people looking for love online tend to be in their 30s, rather than 20s, which isn't surprising considering most people are graduating from school and starting their careers.

The thing that makes online dating so awesome is that the internet is always open for business, so you can potentially find love at any odd hour.

Among the more popular dating sites are eHarmony, PlentyOfFish, and MATE1.COM, so if you're looking for love, you might want to look into finding it online.
