Men Are Paying Women To Talk

I remember reading a Woody Allen story once where he would pay a hooker, but it wasn't to have sex with her; actually what he wanted was at the other end of the spectrum. The john wanted to be intellectually stimulated by a healthy debate on literary authors.

Well, art is imitating life, once again, as men are paying women to lend an ear or act like they care about them. In fact, this conversation with attractive women runs around $60 hour. Had I known, I never would've kept those conversations in bars going just because he bought me a drink for $6.75.

But like Charlie Sheen said when the world discovered that he enjoyed the company of hookers and the like, "I don't pay a woman for sex; I pay her to leave." And that is the beauty of this exchange of time for money.

Men get to have a beautiful woman draping their arm and listening to their boring stories about the accounting department. And women get to walk away with a boatload of cash and no soreness.

Of course, these guys could pay a therapist for the same kinds of services, but then there is no guarantee that she'll be attractive, and I doubt that any therapist would meet up with a man in a bar.

So let this be a lesson to you... sex comes easy; it's finding a woman who will listen to your tedious stories that is so hard to find. And ladies, it's not just about spreading 'em anymore; oh no. Now you need to start listening. How is that for a turning of the tables?
