Celebrate your family on Valentines Day
Valentine's Day is coming up and, last night, my friend asked me how I feel about it. I know she was really asking me if I'm sad because I'm not in a relationship. Truth is, I don't feel an ounce of self-pity. Growing up my mum always made a fuss over Valentine's Day, which happens to coincide with her birthday. Because she knew we would be celebrating her birthday and giving her presents, she always made sure to have some fun things for us in return. That's my mum for you. She always likes to make people feel good. Especially her family. So, Valentine's Day, for me, is a day to rejoice with my family - to celebrate our matriarch's day of birth and the love we have for one another. Thanks mum! Make Valentine's Day whatever you want it to be.
